Karen Hirst BA (Hons) FCCA – Finance Coordinator

Karen graduated with a degree in Accountancy and Finance (well somebody has to), from Humberside College of Higher Education in 1989. After working in the audit department at Bentley Jennison Chartered Accountants in Birmingham for 5 years; in 1994 she moved to Northumberland to be with her husband Rupert. She worked for Baker Tilly Chartered Accountants at their North East offices for 9 years where she worked in numerous areas: audit, small company accounts preparation, sole traders and partnerships, payroll, vat, management accounts and charities. When she left Baker Tilly she was one of the Business Services Department Managers specialising in charities and anything else that came along.

Following a brief detour into primary school teaching Karen has returned to her delight - charity accounting, Karen currently works for NTC Touring Theatre Company Limited and Alnwick District Playhouse Trust and enjoys almost every minute of it.
